"My Service" Database
Community organizations have the opportunity to advertise their volunteer and partnering opportunities on the "My Service" database through the Office of Leadership and Service-Learning. This database is available exclusively to UNCG students, faculty and staff.
Community partners can take advantage of many features that make it easy to spread the word about what they do:
- Upload your logo
- List organizational contacts and your website
- Add your address and a Google map will show exactly where it is
- List multiple volunteer jobs at various sites
- Categorize volunteer jobs by type of activity, populations worked with, and length of commitment
- Identify student leaders who work with your organization
- Student leaders act as liaisons between UNCG and community partners and serve on the OLSL's Peer Council. To learn more about our current student leaders and Peer Council, visit their website.
- Identify your interest in becoming a service-learning partner
- Service-learning partners work specifically with faculty as co-educators. Several service-learning courses are offered each semester, and faculty are always looking for new community partners to work with. Click here to learn more about service-learning.
- Have a question or project you'd like to work with students and faculty on? List "community-based research" questions on your profile
- Community-based research involves faculty, students and community partners working together on issues of common concern. Examples of projects include: feasibility studies, program evaluation, community educational modules, marketing plans, needs assessment, and strategic plan consultation. - Update your information twice a year
- Listed organizations are sent update reminders twice a year, but of course, if your information changes, you can contact the Office of Leadership and Service-Learning to update at any time. Just call 336-256-0538 or e-mail lead@uncg.edu.
