NC-ACTS! AmeriCorps Scholarship Program

Students who serve/teach may be able to benefit from the NC-ACTS! AmeriCorps scholarship program. NC-ACTS! offers a unique advantage to students completing unpaid internships which serve the community. Please take a few minutes to look over the attached overview of the AmeriCorps NC-ACTS! Info Sheet 09-10 and NC-ACTS! Application 09-10 which rewards students for community service with $1,000 education awards.

Students who enroll in the program complete 300 hours of service and two reflection sessions during the semester to receive the award, which may be applied to current tuition or used to pay off qualified student loans. Students who are completing unpaid internships in NC-ACTS! areas (Human Needs, Education*, and Volunteer Recruitment) may count these hours towards the program.

*NC-ACTS! Education placements must address special needs or at risk populations (special ed, ESL, any work at a title I school, etc.)
