Peer Council

PEER_COUNCIL_LOCO

What is the Peer Council?

The Peer Council is a team of student volunteer leaders based out of the Office of Leadership and Service-Learning. We’re here to promote service on UNCG’s campus, act as liaisons to community partners, and support UNCG students who volunteer!group - end of year2

Peer Council 2008-09PC GUM Workday 07

Mission

The Peer Council was established as a network of students with a vested interest in volunteerism and civic engagement and was designed with the Office of Leadership and Service-Learning’s core principles in mind. It provides students who are passionate about becoming civically engaged in their community with the opportunity to employ their passions and strengths in promoting thoughtful, quality service that enhances student learning. The mission of the Peer Council is to connect students to campus and community resources, to capitalize upon opportunities for asset-based community building, to promote the development of civically-engaged student leaders, and to aid the university in creating campus-community relationships that will prove to be transformative for both the relationship itself, and for the Piedmont Triad community.
