Relief Trips

Relief Winter 09' 028

You have the opportunity to make a real difference by participating in a relief trip! Join fellow UNCG students, faculty, and staff on an OLSL-sponsored, student-led relief trip. The OLSL sponsors about 6 trips a year during Spring Break, Winter Break, and in May (around graduation).

Students typically work 7 to 8 hours per day on tasks that help to rebuild impacted communities. Most trips involve construction tasks related to rebuilding houses and other structures. Some trips include more diverse community-building activities such as volunteering in food pantries and schools. Volunteers are housed in simple volunteer accommodations, ranging from cots to bunk beds in shared rooms. Meals are prepared by the group or are provided cafeteria-style, depending on the number of participants and the community partner providing housing.
