MLK Day of Service

Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Through Service

This annual university-wide day of service takes place on Martin Luther Kind Day in January. It gives UNCG students an opportunity to get off campus and be introduced to different parts of our community while honoring Dr. King’s legacy through service.Participation is free. Volunteer teams will be led by a student facilitator and transportation is provided from campus. We hope this day sparks your interest to continue to learn and serve in the Greensboro community and get involved on-campus and locally!

MLK Day of Service 2017 was a fun event full of energetic people wanting to give up a day off to give back. They came with “a heart full of grace and a soul generated by love” as Dr. King would say. Overall, we had approximately 300 student participants and we completed more than 873 hours of community service with 12 community partners!
